Creed

from Shadow Syndicate

Books have been abolished and the written word is only accessible via electronic methods to control meaning. Shadow Syndicate place the concept of interpretation firmly under the microscope in this tale which transcends time and explores the increasingly extreme methods people use to uphold their twisted interpretations of Creed, whose intentions are pure, but whose readers are shrouded in discontent, selfishness and acrimony

The embers of history and powers of interpretation embodied in Creed are close to being extinguished forever, but for the determined work of one University Lecturer. This youth theatre company return with a unique tale exploring how Creed shapes people, becoming a statement for beliefs and principles of different ages. Raising notions surrounding freedom of speech and the powers that words have to influence individual people, groups and society.

Unravelling through different generations, the play explores whether we all read the same way and exposing just how far people will go to uphold…..Creed.
