Acoustic Connections With Raintown Seers

from Raintown Seers

After a successful 2015 - culminating in an appearance at The Apex Theatre, Bury St Edmonds, opening for acclaimed folk star Nancy Kerr - and a busy first half of 2016 - playing folk clubs and festivals UK-wide - High Peak-based quartet Raintown Seers bring their popular Acoustic Connections show back to Buxton Fringe.

Raintown Seers take a set of original and contemporary folk songs, with influences from both sides of the Atlantic, and link them together through the stories behind them. Several themes are included with a particular emphasis on the history and geography of the High Peak. The band utilize a variety of musical instruments in the arrangements, including acoustic guitar, upright bass, banjo, mandolin, melodeon, and concertina, this plus vocal harmonies from the band's two singers results in a show rich in musical colours and textures.
